Home » Refer a student

Enquiry and application

Tell us who the student is, what they are working towards and how you would like sessions to happen. A member of the team will come back to you to talk through the options.

What you will need

  • The student's name, year group and date of birth
  • The number of hours a week funding has been agreed for
  • Contact details for the parent or carer
  • Contact details for the referring professional

Before you refer

Who this is for

Private tuition can be arranged directly with us by families, at home or online. Alternative Provision placements work differently: they are arranged by referral from schools, Local Authorities, Virtual Schools and, where appropriate, families.

  • Students aged 5 to 18
  • English, Mathematics and Science
  • One to one or small group sessions
  • At home, online or at our Stevenage centre

Referral form

All-Inclusive Referral Form

Complete as much as you can. Anything you are unsure of can be left blank and picked up in the conversation that follows. A member of the team will be in touch to confirm the details and agree a start date.

Please send EHCPs and supporting documentation separately via HertsFX to clientsupport@youngeducation.co.uk rather than attaching them here. A notice of one calendar month must be given for cessation of contract.

What happens next

From referral/enquiry to first session

1. We talk

A short conversation about the student, what has been going well and what has not.

2. We plan

We agree subjects, session length and whether learning happens at home, online or at our centre.

3. We begin

Sessions start with a tutor matched to the student, with progress reviewed as you go.

Would you rather speak to someone first?

If you are not sure which kind of support fits, a short call is usually the quickest way to work it out.
