About Us
Our Team
Qualified teachers, specialist mentors, safeguarding professionals and industry experts, working with students across Alternative Provision and Private Tuition.
Who we are
The people behind the magic
YoungEducation has been working with young people and families since 2010. The team brings together qualified teachers, specialist mentors, safeguarding professionals and industry experts, alongside the tutors who deliver our home tuition and online tuition.
What holds it together is a shared starting point: meaningful progress begins with positive relationships. Before learning can flourish, a student needs to feel understood, respected and encouraged.

Leadership
Leading the organisation
Managing Director

Kevin Orral
Kevin is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of YoungEducation, having helped lead the organisation’s development for more than 15 years. Passionate about creating better opportunities for young people, he focuses on building an organisation where everyone is valued as an individual and given the support, confidence and opportunity to succeed. Kevin leads YoungEducation’s strategy, growth and development while remaining firmly committed to the belief that we should never give up on any child.
Despite his leadership role, Kevin remains deeply child-focused and continues to work directly with young people on the ground. He regularly mentors learners, staying closely connected to the day-to-day impact of the organisation and ensuring that everything YoungEducation does is rooted in real experiences and real needs. Kevin can be seen around the Tuition Centre and Alternative Provision daily, working closely with professionals, parents/carers and young people to support positive outcomes and ensure consistent, joined-up support for every learner.
Education Director

Alex Young
Alex is YoungEducation’s Education Director and Co-Founder, leading the organisation’s educational strategy, curriculum and quality of teaching and learning. An experienced teacher and former Head of Key Stage 5 Mathematics, Alex has taught Mathematics from the fundamentals through to Advanced Mathematics and has been passionate about the subject from an early age.
Its logic, problem solving and ability to explain complex ideas inspired Alex to study Mathematics at university and ultimately become a teacher. Today, she brings that same enthusiasm into YoungEducation, helping to create learning that is accessible, engaging and meaningful for every young person.
Alex believes great teaching is about far more than improving subject knowledge. It is about building confidence, encouraging young people to ask questions, think independently and begin to recognise just how capable they really are.
For Alex, nothing beats that special “light-bulb moment” when something suddenly clicks, or when a young person who once struggled with a subject begins to understand it and, even better, starts to enjoy it. Seeing that confidence grow is the reason she loves her job so much.
SENCo

Emma McPartland
Emma is YoungEducation’s SENCo, supporting our young people, families and education team to ensure that every learner receives the individual support they need to thrive. Passionate about inclusive education, Emma works closely with tutors, mentors, parents, carers, schools and other professionals to understand each young person’s strengths, needs and the adjustments that can help them succeed.
Emma believes that SEND should never be a barrier to achievement. For her, effective support begins with really getting to know the young person, listening to them and recognising that there is no single approach to learning that works for everyone. She helps ensure that individual needs are understood and that the right strategies, resources and support are put in place across YoungEducation.
A key part of Emma’s role is helping young people build confidence and independence, particularly those who may previously have found education difficult or felt that traditional approaches did not work for them. She is passionate about creating environments where learners feel understood, supported and comfortable being themselves.
Emma works alongside our education, safeguarding and operational teams to make sure SEND remains at the heart of our provision, helping every young person access education in a way that works for them and achieve the very best they can with the gifts they have been given.
How the team is made up
Four kinds of expertise in one team
Every programme draws on more than one of these. That combination is what makes a personalised timetable possible rather than theoretical.
Qualified teachers
Our teachers plan and deliver the academic core of every programme, with English and Mathematics at the centre of it.
Specialist mentors
Mentors work alongside the teaching, often starting with low-pressure sessions while a young person rebuilds confidence.
Safeguarding professionals
Designated Safeguarding Leads and Deputies hold responsibility for keeping students safe, supported by trauma-informed practice across the organisation.
Industry experts
A qualified Food Technology teacher leads our cooking pathway, and experienced barbers, musicians, music producers and coaches deliver the other pathways.
