What We Offer
Formal Curriculum
English and Mathematics sit at the centre of every programme we run, for students aged 5 to 18. Around that core, each timetable is built for one person: their starting point, their pace and what they are working towards.
The core
One framework. A different timetable for every student.
Students arrive with us at very different points. Some have been out of education for a long time. Some are managing anxiety, or find a large school environment difficult. Some simply need a smaller group and more time with a teacher who knows them.
So no two timetables are identical. What does not change is the framework underneath them. Whether a young person is with us as part of Alternative Provision, or a student is working with a tutor at home or online, the same five foundations run through the programme.
The five foundations
- Literacy
- Numeracy
- Communication
- Emotional wellbeing
- Preparation for the future
Programmes are reviewed regularly with the school, Local Authority or family, so the timetable keeps pace with the student rather than the other way round.
Three stages
Find the stage that fits
The curriculum is organised into three age bands. Each one is shaped around what that stage of education actually asks of a young person.

How it fits together
Academic learning is one strand, not the whole programme
In Alternative Provision, the formal curriculum runs alongside specialist mentoring, wellbeing support and hands-on enrichment. Those strands are designed together rather than bolted on to each other. It is why a young person who finds English difficult in a classroom will often make progress on it in the same week they are learning to cook, or working in the gym.
For students in private tuition, the same academic framework applies, shaped around whatever else their week already contains.
Our promise
Every young person deserves someone who believes in them.
How we measure progress
Success here is more than examination results. Returning to education counts. A first qualification counts. So does the confidence to walk into a room.
Three ways to learn
At our centre, at home, or online
The formal curriculum is delivered through both sides of YoungEducation. Alternative Provision places a young person with us, arranged in partnership with schools, Local Authorities and families. Private Tuition brings a tutor to the student instead: Home Tuition in their own home, or Online Tuition wherever they are.
Which route suits a student depends on their age, what they are working towards and how they are managing education at the moment. If you are not sure, a conversation is usually the fastest way to find out.

Every successful placement begins with a conversation.
Tell us about the student and what has been happening. We will be straight with you about whether we are the right fit, and about how quickly a place could start.
